A huge shout out to Dodgems & Floss
We are thrilled to announce that Dodgems and Floss have generously offered to design the branding and marketing for this year’s Wise Words Festival.
Dodgems & Floss are a collaborative design studio specialising in delightful design. They hand craft engaging experiences that transform brands with infectious creativity and passion.
The design of our marketing is very important to us at Wise Words – it tells our story, our aims and ambitions. Finding the right partner is always a challenge, but when we first came across Dogems and Floss we were attracted by the design of the studio itself, the sense of playfulness, attention to detail and the relaxed and warm welcome we received when we popped in.
They describe their studio as a space to ‘create and play’ and you get a real sense that design is more than their ‘job’ – it is passion and they love every minute of what they do.
We caught up with Jonathan Harding, Client Relations and Ben Fitter-Harding the Studio Director and asked a few questions:
Hi Jonathan can you introduce us to Dodgems and Floss?
You could almost call it fate that Dodgems and Floss came together as a partnership. Five friends, all arriving at a similar point in their lives at the same time, each having spent over a decade in the various pursuits of their careers. It was time for something new and something we could call our own, and that’s how we went from talking about Dodgems & Floss to living it (and loving it). We each bring something so unique to the team, and work together so well, that we knew we just had to go for it.
We’re from all over the country, but, one way or another, Canterbury had become a part of each of our lives. Working here, living here, even getting elected here, we have all been infected by the beauty and energy the city has to offer. There are practical reasons, too; such as high speed rail to London and hundreds of fantastic businesses we’d love to work with right outside our door.
The great thing about being a creative design agency is that they thrive on being different, and I’d challenge you to find another one that looks and feels anything like us. Without giving away all of our secrets, we place a huge amount of importance on doing work that we enjoy, investing time and energy in projects that will look and feel fantastic and not just those that will pay the most money. We’re always looking long-term, bringing world-class design to start-ups and projects that would normally find it beyond their reach. The thing that really sets us apart is our in-house project work… you can view a teaser for our latest endeavour at enterthekey.co.uk
Ben, we always ask everyone we interview the same 3 questions and hoped that you wouldn’t mind answering them too.
What makes you sing?
For me it’s about enabling others to do and give their absolute best, and doing things that make people happy.
What makes your heart sink?
Underachieving. I hate seeing things that could and should be so much better, people selling themselves short.
What advice would you give your six year old self?
Don’t worry if sometimes it seems like things can’t get any worse. Hang on in there, because life’s about to blow you away with something incredible.
Keep your eyes on our social media and watch our for the posters and all the rest of the design work that will soon be appearing across the city because we have a feeling that you too might just be blown away by the creative talent of Dogems and Floss!
