The teepees that popped up across the city during the Wise Words Festival last year provided beautiful and intimate venues for author talks, storytelling and poetry readings. We wanted to recreate this environment for audiences again this year and were delighted when YurtsUp offered to sponsor our Festival.

YurtsUp are a local company whose young, friendly and dedicated team hire out stunning traditional Mongolian and Kazak yurts. The Yurt, or Ger, is a nomadic tent that has been evolving for over a thousand years and is designed to withstand the toughest of conditions.

Their yurts provide a perfect venue for our festival – beautiful and intimate spaces within which our audiences will be offered unexpected, intimate and intriguing encounters with poetry and stories alongside opportunities to hear from insightful speakers who will share their experiences and understanding of the world.
