Opportunity for emerging spoken word artists in Kent area

Spoke ‘n’ Word, an exciting new touring project run by a consortium of Workers of Art (and our Wise Words Festival), Wheely Groovy, Apples and Snakes, LV21, Lounge on the Farm and Deal Festival. We will be working with 16-19 year olds in Kent across 2014 and are looking for 3 emerging spoken word artists, rappers and/or poets to become support artists working alongside professional poet workshop leaders throughout the project.

You must be keen to work with young people helping develop their spoken word and performance skills, keen to develop your own workshop, poetry and performance skills, willing to work alongside and learn from a poet-coach and keen to continue working with young people in the field of spoken word.

There will be a fee for being part of the team which will cover 20 days involvement in the project between January and Sept 2014.

The application/selection process will take place on Friday 13th September in Canterbury and applicants must be available to be in Canterbury on that day from midday.
