We are not experts on law or copyright and I’m sure a lawyer would advise us to do this differently but we have tried to keep it simple and to trust those that take part…
Terms of use:
If you choose to send a journal by post you are responsible for all postage costs (includes overseas postage). If you are however the last person to contribute (and the journal is now full) you will be tasked with sending it back to us. If you need help with the postage in this particular case then please email us at [email protected]
Content:
You agree not to contribute any material that is illegal, threatening, sexually explicit, pornographic, obscene, infringing on intellectual property rights, injurious to third parties, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
You understand that Wise Words cannot review contributions whilst the journals are in the public domain. You agree to assume full responsibility for any items that you contribute. You agree to hold us harmless for any violations of law or regulation that arise in connection with your contribution resulting in civil or criminal liability.

Read it:
Enjoy what others have contributed…
Add to It:
Add wise words of you own or those from someone else. These can be added in any way you like – Draw, paste, cut, fold or write whatever takes your fancy…
Pass it On:
You have 24 hours (if you can) to pass or send this journal onto someone else who would appreciate it…

When the last page is reached:
Please send the journal back to us at by either dropping it into the Beaney House of Art & Knowledge (link) or by sending it to: Wise Words, 31 Paradise Row, Sandwich, Kent, UK

Adding content to the journals:
By contributing to a journal you agree to participate in the free exchange of personal property, including but not limited thoughts, drawings, poems, images, photographs etc…
You must be the sole owner of the items you contribute and have the unrestricted right to transfer ownership thereof. You must agree that all contributions are legal and do not infringe any intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyrights, trademarks, and patents.
You agree not to add any items of a sexually explicit, pornographic, or obscene nature.
You further agree not to post any images of children, young people or vulnerable adults unless their legal guardian gives written permission.
You understand that Wise Words cannot review contributions whilst the journals are in the public domain. You agree to assume full responsibility for any items that you contribute. You agree to hold us harmless for any violations of law or regulation that arise in connection with your contribution resulting in civil or criminal liability.

We offer a blog on our site where contributors are encouraged to share their experience of receiving or finding a journal. We reserve the right to monitor the blog and edit, modify or delete any materials that we believe are offensive or contrary to any of our policies.
Wise Words further reserves the right to use posted materials for its own purposes for marketing, communication, advertising, or any other purpose that we see fit.
When finished the books will be kept in the Beaney House of Art & Knowledge where they will remain on public display.
