The Beaney’s Community room will be transformed into a recording booth for the Wise Words Festival. In conversation with an actor and director, you will be invited to explore a poem that is significan to your life. Through this conversation the actor, inspired by your insights and thoughts, will create, a unique recording - a soundtrack for you to keep.
The Poetry Survey devises encounters between people and poems with an emphasis on the listening process and what it means for reader and writer. As part of Wise Words The Poetry Survey will continue to explore ‘Poems As Friends’.
You are invited to book in for an individual session to nominate your chosen poem to the survey and to explore it in conversation with an actor and director. Through this conversation a unique recording of the poem will be created by the actor - a soundtrack for the you inspired by your insights and thoughts about the poem.
A stall displaying the ongoing entries to the survey will be on hand outside the recording room as well as a mini-library of poems to explore new nominations that can be made by anyone visiting the Beaney on these dates.
The Poetry Survey has been devised and is produced by Fiona Lesley Bennett.
Slots for the Recording Booth need to be booked in advance and visitors need to bring a copy of their chosen poem with them. Sessions last 30 / 45 minutes.
