Volunteer Makers

Those of you who know our festival will recognise our passion for creating beautiful and often quirky installations that enhance the natural beauty of the site. In the months leading up to the festival we meet for coffee, conversation and cake and together make miles of bunting, book birds, installations, lanterns and outdoor chandeliers.

During the Festival itself this team finds itself helping in all sorts of roles sharing the craft activities they have learnt with festival-goers. Here are some previous examples of the things Creative Team Members have found themselves doing:

  • Both leading and supporting in workshops such as lantern making, headdress making, hat decorating and book making.
  • Leading sessions for children such as ‘Fun with Clay’ and ‘Bubble Blowing’.
  • Helping festival-goers to contribute to the festival newspaper.
  • Taking part in exciting immersive roles within the Tiny Tots and Family Areas.

The Festival will take place between the 30th April and 8th May. During the first weekend we collaborate with the City Sound Project to create a space that appeals to both theirs and our audience.

Essential Dates

The design and making process begins mid January.  We will be opening our doors and inviting  the Creative Team to join us in our studio in Bridge. This could be for a a few weeks over your Easter break or for one day a week leading up to the festival. We are flexible to fit around and support your studies.

Installation takes place in the week running up to the festival and it is essential that you would be available at some point between the 24th & 29th April. The days will be filled with setting up the site and in the evening there will be training sessions, a couple of fun socials and the chance to get to know the other volunteers.

If you are interested please contact beth@workers-of-art.co.uk and put CREATIVE VOLUNTEER in the subject box.
