Wise Words and the Marlowe in Partnership support the development of young artists (14-30), through our Rough Cut Collective. The programme is open to any emerging artists who have poetry, writing or storytelling at the heart of their ambition as an artist. You may be a poet looking to develop as a performer; an emerging poet aspiring to make poetry a career; a writer, poet or performer looking to develop your first show; a producer looking to develop an imagined event; or a new performance company looking for support as you take your first steps into the professional world.
Our aim is to support your un-refined or ‘Rough’ ideas and dreams and to collaborate with you to turn these into fully realised ambitions through mentoring, skills development and where applicable through seed funding and helping you access additional financial support.
The programme is designed to be flexible, to adapt around your life, to your development needs as an artist and to your project idea and offers you two years of development and support.
The Rough Cut artists share an ambition to collaborate within the collective and to support each other where possible through sharing skills, experience and networks.
The collective has a total of 8- 10 places each year. The 2017 intake is now full.
