The works of Roald Dahl are full of wondrous characters, from the magnanimously awful Trunchbull to the suddenly youthful Grandpa Joe, from Alfie the tortoise to Muggle-Wump the monkey, from the BFG to the Grand High Witch or even the Twits.
Would you like to design a creature inspired by Roald Dahl?
Here are a few questions to help you along the way:
- Are they a person an animal or a creature?
- Timid, brave, horrid or kind?
- Where do they live?
- What’s their favorite food?
- What makes them jump for joy or feel sad?
- What language do they speak or noise do they make?
- What’s their greatest ambition?
- Do they smell like roses or sludge?
- what’s their name?
- what do they look like?
Now let your imaginations run wild!
Draw or paint us a picture, make a puppet or create a 3-D model – whatever takes your fancy and then wrap it up safe and send it to us at the Cowshed Studios.
The winning entry will become one of the characters that move into our Roald Dahl inspired area where they will entertain families throughout the second weekend of the Wise Words Festival. If they are not too shy they may also pop up throughout our marketing campaign to let the world know that they exist.
The creator of the winning character and two runners up will also win a Golden Ticket to the Wise Words Festival.
